Student achievement
The School of Business closely monitors the two key performance metrics of student retention and student graduation.
Undergraduate student retention
Students enter the undergraduate business and accounting programs in a variety of ways. Students transfer from other universities or from other undergraduate programs. In addition, many of the students who leave the undergraduate business and accounting programs transfer to other universities or to other degree programs. Whether or not a student is retained does not necessarily indicate whether they ultimately graduate. This makes tracking and interpreting student retention metrics a challenge.

Graduate (MBA) student retention
Unlike our undergraduate programs, student retention, cohort cohesion, and full/part-time student counts are often difficult to determine in graduate programs. Many of our graduate students are working professionals. As such, their work schedule and other obligations significantly impact program participation. These obligations cause students to churn in and out of the program. In any given semester the students entering the program may be continuing undergraduate student (4+1), recently discharged/retired military students, local business professionals, or adults wanting to return to the workforce. Some of these students may complete the program in a year while others could remain in the program for 3 or 4 years.
